General Leasing Questions

How are roommates matched?

We offer a roommate matching program for those who have not already pre-selected their roommate(s).

 

What if I need to cancel my lease?

With the exception of joining the military, we do not offer a lease termination clause in the lease. The resident is responsible for the entire lease contract. The View does allow residents to transfer their lease agreement with proper authorization from the management staff.

Will you send me a monthly bill for rent?

No, we do not send monthly invoices. However, we do offer automatic payments to help you not forget to make your monthly rental installment.

What types of leases are available?

The View offers 12-month leases.

Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?

All of our apartment homes are very spacious and provide a lot of room for you to bring personal furniture items. All The View furniture must stay within your apartment so make sure to plan your decorating before arriving.

If I'm over 21, do I still need a guarantor?

Yes. All leases are required to have a guarantor. If an approved guarantor cannot be obtained, Greystar will accept a security deposit of one and one half (1.5) installment of rent..

When I go to pay my rent, why does my balance due say $0?

We charge rent on the first of every month. You can still make a payment before the first, and will show as a credit until rent is charged.

When does my lease start?

Our leases start on August 19th.

Are there home essentials included, such as pots and pans?

Although we offer fully furnished apartment homes, you will want to bring dishes, pots and pans, etc.

What size are the beds?

Each bedroom contains a comfortable full-size bed.

What do I need to hook my computer up to the Internet?

You will need to bring your own router to access the internet.

When is my first rental installment due?

The 15th of the month prior to your lease start date.

How close are you to campus?

The View is 1.5 miles from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln

What types of apartments are available?

We offer three different fully furnished floor plans: 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, 4 bedroom/2 bathroom, and 4 bedroom/4 bathroom.

How are rooms assigned?

Residents who already have preferred roommates can confirm their roommate match requests using our roommate matching platform. If you do not have a roommate in mind at the time of your application, we are happy to help assist you in finding the right match through roommate matching. Residents will be able to communicate with each other during and after the selection process. In the event that potential roommates discover that they are no longer compatible, they can request a different roommate and we will do our best to accommodate any change request. To provide sufficient time and the greatest opportunity for residents to find the perfect roommate, they should apply and sign a lease as early as possible.

Renewal Questions

When do I start paying the new rent amount?

On the first day of your new lease.

I'm graduating in December, can I still renew?

Contact the office for details on the options available to you.

If I renew, do I have to move out and then move back in?

When you renew and choose to stay in your current spot, no moving is required!

Can I request different roommates?

We want you to be comfortable here, and we will do everything we can to accommodate your roommate requests.

If I renew, will my guarantor have to sign again?

Yes, they will just need to re-sign the guarantor form and they are all set!

It seems early to renew, I just moved in?

Renewing now will provide the most benefit to you. By signing early, you will secure your space for next year and take advantage of the best pricing available.

How do I renew my lease?

We know how busy you are, so we have made the process as quick and easy as possible. Renewing is a easy as "1,2,3"! Just following these steps:

1. Open your renewal email from us.
2. Review the terms, and click "Accept"
3. Follow the prompts to sign the new lease agreement.
